TONY MDY's PROFILE

Tony Mdy is one those rare talents that is highly motivated, low profile and vastly experienced and totally professional in any artwork project he's involved with, there seems to be no limit to the scale and diversity of his airbrush work and has been airbrushing since 1985.

He has worked, on airbrush projects in Borneo-Malaysia and Brunei rapidly gaining an international reputation as an airbrush artist with talent and a professional approach.

He has been involved professionally as a freelance commercial and fine artist since 1985, and as a result was confronted with the challenge of working many mediums, and innovating methods and techniques to fit specific demands. Many of those challenges are reflected in the processes and techniques now used in his paintings.

His art is achieved by first applying reactive mediums and applying the modelling material for the texture, often working and reworking the surface and colour glazes until the desired effect is achieved. Generally prefer the challenge of the airbrush. The airbrush, on a fine are level, allows him to achieve the look of realism in his paintings. He want the viewers of his paintings to feel as if they are standing right there in front of them and are able to feel the personality of each one that he paint. Promoting conservation through Auto-Art

PROGRAM MENGHASILKAN KARYA SENI BERMOTIFKAN HIDUPAN LIAR DI ATAS HOOD KERETA NASIONAL DI BSLN DARI 19 OGOS HINGG 18 SEPTEMBER 2009

Tujuan program ini adalah untuk mengutarakan suara kebimbangan akibat kepupusan jenis-jenis hidupan liar di Malaysia/dunia dengan teknik lukisan berus angin (air brush) di atas hood kereta Nasional seperti Wira, Kembara, Kancil, Juara, Myvi, Perdana dan Kelisa.
Program ini juga menjadi platfom untuk melatih staff BSLN menggunakan peralatan air brush untuk melukis dan juga teknik untuk pengetahuan di masa hadapan. Untuk program ini, BSLN menjemput aku sebagai pelukis jemputan.

Projek Muralis Kontemporari 1Malaysia - Pulau Langkawi

Majlis Pelancaran Muralis 1Malaysia telah disempurnakan oleh Menteri Kesenian, Kebudayaan dan Komunikasi Malaysia Datuk Seri Rais Yatim pada 15hb July 2009, Kuala Lumpur. Projek Residensi Artis Berus Angin telah diadakan di Pulau Langkawi bertempat Studio Lama Kini dan lukisan mural tersebut telah disiapkan selama 6-7 hari.
